Lucy Ruth Sorensen was born and raised in Minnesota into a theatre loving family. Her mom swears 2-year-old-Lu could sing Somewhere Over The Rainbow, including the bridge, in pitch and in time before she could clearly form syllables. In any event, Lucy's passion for theatre and music was evident early on and combined with her unmistakable vocal gift, it became apparent that her dad's wish for a computer programming daughter was not to be realized. During high school, Lucy divided her time with studies, theatre, music and a part-time job for the nationally syndicated children's radio station, Radio AAHS, delivering the evening news and recording advertising spots. She went on to pursue musical theatre at Ithaca College's lauded program, where she not only furthered her appreciation for all things Sondheim, but gained a host of talented and inspiring lifelong friends. Ithaca Is Gorges!

Following her dream, Lucy is a working actress, having been seen in numerous regional and off-Broadway productions, as well as in readings and recordings for various emerging musical theatre writers. Favorite roles include Mrs. Claus in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry, Patsy Cline at St. Michael's Playhouse in beautiful Burlington, Vermont, and The Full Monty at Florida's Maltz Jupiter Theatre (in winter, no less!) She has performed in Spanish as a fairy cat godmother in Panama, shared the stage with camels, donkeys, and a baby lamb, and once during an electrical outage, sang an entire musical a capella. The show really must - and does - go on.

Lucy lives in "Upstate Manhattan" with her long-haired dachshund, Bryndal.

Oh, and she can cook too.
